Bill to limit protesters at medical facilities clears state Senate
Tuesday, 30 June 2009
Those of you who use medical facilities would have your privacy protected under a bill that has cleared the state Senate. Senate Majority Whip Margaret Rose Henry says the bill strikes a balance between a protestor’s first amendment rights and a person’s privacy rights.
Protestors would have to ensure that there is a clear path in and out of a facility and they’ll have to give an eight-foot cushion between themselves and people who are coming to or going from the facility. The bill now heads to the House.
