51st Annual Great Delaware Kite Festival is Friday at Cape Henlopen State Park

The 51st Annual Great Delaware Kite Festival takes place Friday at Cape Henlopen State Park. Registration for the kite festival begins at 10am with the kids competitions beginning at 11:30 – the adult competitions begin at about 2pm – following the highest kite competition at 1pm, which is open to all ages.

There is will also be an appearance by the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg Hunt for kids that will begin at 11am. Five-thousand eggs filled with candy and toys will be hidden. If you’re taking part in the Easter Egg Hunt, arrive early!

Parking for the event is at the park’s Beach Parking lot and time is required to be transported back to the event location within the park. Entrance fees apply for cars to enter Cape Henlopen State Park which will be collected at the entrance to the park – $5 per car for Delaware license tags and $10 per car for out-of-state tags. The Jolly Trolley will transport spectators at no cost to the competition field from the state park’s beach parking lot. Handicap parking is available at the Seaside Nature Center parking lot.
