UPDATED – 3:28pm – Delaware Electric Cooperative has been able to re-energize the lines and power has been restored to most in the Angola area.  However utility crews will be on the scene for several hours replacing the damaged utility poles.  Expect detours in the area while that work is being completed.

Power is out for over 1700 Delaware Electric Cooperative members in the Angola area – after a truck struck a utility pole east of Angola by the Bay. Camp Arrowhead Road is closed in the area of Pine Road and Delaware Electric Cooperative crews are on the scene. However Co-op officials tell WGMD that power could be out for several hours. Crews currently are assessing the damage. Traffic is being detoured around the scene as well.
