Both Kent and Sussex Counties have been able to breathe a little easier in the past year after both counties air quality reports have improved. In 2015, the American Lung Association gave both counties an “F” grade. Last year, however, those grades were upgraded to a “B” for Kent and a “D” for Sussex. Both counties did get an “A” rating for daily and annual particle pollution. DNREC is saying that the poor air quality in the southern portion of the state is due to the amount of cars on the roadways.
