Fighting Islamofascism

Saturday, December 2nd, 2006

Two guys who were instrumental in helping bring down Communism during the Cold War are now organizing to fight radical Islam, as World Net Daily reports:

Wheeler and Baldwin say anti-communism was “the defining issue that brought hundreds of thousands of people into the conservative movement in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. There was a sense that this movement had to be successful if not only America but Western Civilization itself were to survive.” They say the current war of global conquest being waged by Islamofascists will be an even tougher fight than the battle that focused on the Soviet Union. “But we don’t seem to be prepared for this war,” they write. “Unlike the movement created during the Cold War, there doesn’t seem to be much of an infrastructure to combat Islamofascism.” The agenda for such a movement should include the following activities and efforts, they say:

  • investigate radical mosques
  • support anti-Islamofascist freedom fighters
  • thwart attempts to impose Sharia law
  • form an anti-Islamofascist publishing network
  • create an anti-Islamofascist portal on the Internet
  • establish an anti-Islamofascist speakers bureau
  • wage an ideological assault on Islamofascism
  • support efforts to evangelize Muslims in Europe and the Middle East
  • create a global anti-Islamofascist coalition
  • reframe the illegal immigration issue as one of national security
  • end dependence on foreign oil that’s funding the Islamofascists.

The 910 group website tells all. They have a blog and a forum on the topic.

More mess for John Atkins

Friday, December 1st, 2006

Peppermint Patty, at Delaware Grapevine has gone public with the rumors that Democrats have been circulating since Mr. and Mrs. Atkins had their verbal battle turned 911 call turned offensive touching charge against John Atkins (R-41st district) .

“ Barry Neeb, the public information officer for the Ocean City Police Department in Maryland, told Delaware Grapevine on Friday that Atkins appeared to be drinking and driving, although not enough to be over the legal limit, when police stopped him for speeding Saturday night, Oct. 28, on Coastal Highway in a vehicle with his wife.

The day after his arrest, the couple appeared on my radio show, and explained all in painful detail, and the “drunk rumor” could not be confirmed by the WGMD news department. Three different officers checked, rechecked, (at the insistence of our news staff), and had no reports, or notes about stopping John Atkins that night. I guess we know why; he wasn’t drunk like the rumor mill hoped. I’ve since learned today that the Delaware Department of Justice put a full court press against Ocean City and that’s why the public relations guy is now talking. But what is he really saying? Nothing really..Atkins was speeding? Big deal.

Politics are in play here in a big way. Would the Justice Department make such a full court press against anyone else over such a minor misdemeanor event? (Grabbing an arm during a verbal argument) No they wouldn’t. They’ve traveled to Ocean City to dig up dirt, and I hear the State has even subpoenaed the Atkins two year old child! Disgusting.

John and Heather continue to work together on their marriage, and they continue to try and protect their children from the ugly gossip the Democrats keep throwing at their family.

When a caller asked on the air, I’m a little disappointed that John denied any alcohol use, but given the highly personal and embarrassing nature of everything else he was admitting to, it’s understandable he didn’t want to have to explain two stories at once.

As far as I’m concerned John admitted his guilt to the charges when he appeared on my radio show, so anything else is interference into a private family matter, and should be dropped by those Democrats who seem to delight in the attempted destruction of a family. John is a stand up guy. Look for him to not let the State drag his family into a court room for political antics. He’ll plead guilty, take his punishment and continue to work hard for the citizens of his district.

Sex offender and Rehoboth candy shop…

Friday, December 1st, 2006

Once upon a time, a skating rink manager, and video store owner pled guilty to 17 felonies involving the sexual abuse of five young boys ages 13 to 15. He met some of his victims while managing a miniature golf course. He pled guilty to 11 counts of first degree deviant sexual assault, five counts of sodomy, and one count of felony theft by deceit. Three of his young victims told police they were molested more than 60 times. He would shower his little targets with cash and gifts, such as concert tickets and a radio…..he also showed them pornographic movies. His sentence of 10 years in 1988 was much less than the 25 years prosecutors wanted. Authorities pointed out during the case that this man was charged with similar sexual abuse of young boys prior, in 1981.

Today, he owns Snyders Candy Shop on Rehoboth Avenue.

Mr. Jeff Balk, you are invited to respond if you wish.

Yes, regular listeners, the same Jeff Balk of EXP Magazine fame.
