Can You Say Sense of Humor?

February 7th, 2007 by Nancy Cleveland

How ridiculous! I cannot believe the Snickers commercial has been pulled from the airwaves. Among a pretty poor show of commercials during the SuperBowl, this was one of funniest…and the least violent!

More, I’m appalled that ’certain groups’ voiced their complaints of homophobia…just know, people, those groups do not speak for all of us. Certainly not for my partner, myself or our company. You know, it’s one thing to get one’s knickers in a twist over an obvious and real slur but this? The two guys with their heads under the hood, one starts to eat the candy bar…anyone with a lick of sense saw what was coming and should’ve…or could’ve started laughing then.

You know, there are times when it IS appropriate to be outraged and do something constructive about it but let’s not forget humor. Not sure which faction is worse…those who complained in indignation or the company which took fright and flight.

I had to roll my eyes when I heard the news that the ad had been pulled.Nancy,I’m afraid we have lost whatever sense of humor we may have had.Does this fall under political correctness? It’s a shame!!Curious as usual.

That was the FUNNIEST commercial I have seen in a LOOOOOONG TIME ! And they PULLED IT ???

Thank God for YouTube. Now, I’m going to do something manly and watch it there.

I hadn’t had a Snickers bar in a while. We went to WalMart today, and I bought 2 of the 97 cent packs of them (10 fun-sized bars in each). Now, would I have done that if that commercial hadn’t been on ?

Of course, after the two guys ripped open their shirts, I began to think that NAIR would have been good for a cross marketing ad campaign.
