Ads Versus Reality

May 29th, 2007 by Jared Morris

So… some talk show hosts have politics… some have school issues… I don’t know how I got stuck as the fast food watch dog.. k… using the term dog and fast food in the same sentence.. maybe not a great idea..

Anyway… did you ever notice how fergalicious the sandwiches look on the fast food menu board or in tv ads?? (Like, you know? Wow… a number 3.. a number 5 and.. two hashbrowns… oh… and three orange drinks.. and maybe another number 3.. but, supersize that one.. oh and can you give me extra bacon on those french fries?)

Well.. I’ve stumbled upon a Web site that illustrates the difference between the advertising pictures and the actual sandwiches.. want a sample to wet your appetite?

How about the delicious Burger King Whopper?
 vs.

mmmmm…. I’m getting hungry…

This topic is as old as I am.

If you want a real kick in the pants, watch a Red Lobster commercial and then go see the slop they sling on your plate.

The exact same thing happened when Bush took us to war in Iraq, then it turned out even worse as they continue to touch up the photographic realities as we speak.

Sorry Jared, but the underlying theme of your post is truth, too often shaded these days as you so graphically illustrate here.

    Sheesh.
