Smyrna Officer Sex Advance on Infante Fiancee?
September 21st, 2007 by Jared MorrisA few monts ago, Former Delaware Gubernatorial Candidate Frank Infante was arrested on false perscription drug fraud charges. When he appeared on the Jared Morris Radio Show on WGMD 92.7FM following the dismissal of all charges, he promised he’d have a big story for me in the future.
According to Infante, his girlfriend Carolyn Reed and papers filed by The Neuberger Firm and presented to the Smyrna Police, the trooper responsible for Infante’s arrest was also, at the time, propositioning Infante’s girlfriend Reed for sex (in exchange to drop the charges on Frank.)
Sound too unbelievable to be true? That’s what I thought, until I heard the tapes! Oh yes, there are tapes. Ranging from about 07-12-07 to 07-20-07, Infante and Reed secretly taped Smyrna Detective Torrie James while he engaged in illicit conversations with Reed, (note: he was investigating Reed at the time for a different offense!) eventually leading to a clandestine meeting with Reed at the Smyrna Rest Area off exit 119 in Smyrna.
During the course of Infante and Reed’s secret investigation, The Detective allegedely touched and tried to kiss Reed, phoned Reed whilst arresting Frank, offered to “Get Frank out of the way” and called a 6-year-old with a maybe broken neck a “dumbass.” (end quote)
The tapes, of which I have heard a portion, have been also presented to State Police and the mayor of Smyrna and the Attorney General’s office.
Expect a press release in the coming weeks from Infante’s lawyers. But, i invite you to listen to the accusations from Infante and Reed themselves as they appeard on my radio program today.

Jared is this a Smyrna officer or a State Trooper. If he is a Smyrna cop then he is not a Trooper. please change you blog so it does not misrepresent.

It’s sounds like this is a Smyrna town officer and not State Trooper. If that is the case could you change it so it does not say Smyrna Trooper, Trooper’s are State Police.

Jared I heard your interview with Mr. Infante and Ms. Reed. All I would say is , while I know it is your job to cover stories such as this, I would be very careful around anything to do with Mr. Infante. Is it just me , or do other people notice that an awful lot of bizzar stuff seems to happen around Mr. Infante, and I might add , it seems, to here him tell it , that there are a lot of people out to get him.
As for the interview , it seemed to me that the two of them were way to casual about relating this story.
I’m not saying that this officer was not caught on tape saying things that should lead to his firing, but I wonder at the back story , and also you know that with digital recordings the potential for editing is very easy.
It seemed to me that Ms. Reed kept saying how frightened she was of this officer, yet she kept meeting with him. She said she always had someone close by, will these people come foward? And if so what are their creds, and crimminal background? Also while telling this story both her and Mr. Ifante showed no emotion , never once did Ms. Reed break down while recanting a story she says caused her great emotional distress. Never once did Mr. Infante seem angry , except when I called and pointed out these same facts on air.
What I heard where two people who continued to state that what ” they ” were doing was brave and that ” they ” deserved praise for it. It seemed to me that Ms. Reed could have been telling a story to a girl friend about a guy hitting on her at a bar , not about a man, a police officer, threatning her boyfriend , and herself.
It also seemed as if they were putting out a cover story for any future problems they may have , by saying more than once ” that if they were arrested and charged with anything, people needed to know that it would be a set up”

Hello. I am Franks brother Tatham. Unlike the above poster, I have nothing to hide, nor will I try to divert attention away from a serious matter, rather poorly I may add. At this point I suspect the above poster to be one of several people, all of of whom share a vested interest in seeing Frank fail. Shamefully, they would rather cause my brother misery rather than address the very serious issue of a police officer entrusted with great power by the people of Smyrna, abuse such power in such a disgraceful and I may add, criminal matter.
Do tell me Mr.Poster, what are YOUR motivations here? I can’t help but find it somewhat unusual that that you completely ignored the meat and potatoes of this story. What do YOU feel about an officer of the law making false arrests on citizens, with the promise of granting them freedom if their fiancee’s will sleep with them? Apparently you are complete fine with that, because after all, the womans husband to be has ” lots of bizarre stuff happening to him”. How exactly would you feel if your wife, daughter, or sister was sexually assaulted by this officer? Since apparently, you feel smearing Frank is more important than keeping this animal off of the street.
I also like how you made the completely false claim that Frank and Ms.reed were claiming THEY deserve praise for this. In reality Frank was saying that Ms. reed deserves Praise for having the courage to come forward, without hiding her face and bring this very serious issue to the public. She does deserve praise for this. I sadly, cannot say the same for you, coward.
My family has to live in fear that my brother will be arrested, or worse by an out of control officer who sexually assaults and black mails women in exchange for their significant others freedoms. She didn’t burst into tears when speaking of this issue on the radio and so you doubt her sincerity? What kind of a ” man” ( and I use that term lightly) are you? Perhaps you run, crawl under a rock and hide from all dangers that find their way to your door in life, but luckily for the rest of us there are some people, like Ms. Reed with the courage to come forward and alert us to situations that effect ALL of our lives. To wrap this up I would like to give you a few words of advice.
1) Rather than bash a woman who has gone through Hell do to a black sheep cop, maybe… just MAYBE you should look at the evidence of the case and come to the only logical conclusion?
2) Maybe you should stop hiding like some sort of lizard , pretending you are someone you clearly are NOT on an internet forum and have the fortitude to at least back up your ridiculous allegations with facts.
3) Last but not least..If you are going to make it your profession to publicly bash women who are victims of assault on internet forums, can you at the very least use spell check next time? Thank you, and have a good day.

I cannot believe that this chick is soooo beautiful that there are men out there willing to risk their jobs, families, and also their lives for a chance to have her. Can you post a picture ?

I am who I am . I pointed out the way I heard the interview. As for evidence, well they didn’t play the tape so I only have their word. But let me say if they can prove in a court of law that this took place , then there is not a corner dark enough for this officer. And I guess I am not a super hero so I would not let my wife, girlfriend, or daughter , meet with a man I felt was as dangerous as they said they felt this man to be. By not involving someone of authority they have left themselves open to these sort of questions. These are the same questions that will be asked in a court of law. So if they are to go through with this case they will have to answer them many times. If they felt they couldn’t trust anyone in Delaware , they should have gone to the Justice Department or maybe the FBI.They are not officers of the law and may have jeoperdized their own case. Any good lawer will be able to see that those tapes never see the light of day in a trial. And if they come across to a jury as they did on the air then they may loose anyway. Also Mr. Infante is a fairly public figure in Delaware, it may be hard to find a jury with no knowledge of his past adventures.
I will only add that I have never met Mr. Infante or Ms. Reed, and have nothing to gain from their troubles. What they and Tatham need to understand is , that when they went on the radio station , and went public with this they not only open the door on the officer but also on themselves.

I have lived in Smtrna, for year. I grew up there and know the Officer in question. A very nice young man. A Good Guy. Slander is serious. In lite of the recial tention in the country today, I would be very careful in the statemants that are made.
This person Ms. Reed, is she the same person who tried to file a lawsuit against her employer, and lied? Is, her boyfriend not the person whp got upset about a law that is almost country wide (NO Smoking in bars & restaurants). I don’t like the law either but I honor it. Is this not the same man that had abuse problems with his wife and children?
Ms. Reed was arrested, that means something was done. If she had been indited that means the Grand Jury found cause. DShe will have to prove her case in court that is her right. However that fact that she decided to be a SNITCH to try to cut a deal shows what she is. Crocks always try to get out of trouble, by telling on someone else. She and her bouyfriend sound like, they are playing the oldest game in town, try to make seem like the cop’s are the bad guys.
When you make statements that can bring hurt and harm to someones life, and that of their family, affect their job. Thats dangerous. If Dan Rather, had to leave his job for misreporting, and Imus had to go for his statement, Jerad what about you!
Everyone needs to take a look, at this woman, check out her history, and of course Mr. Ifante we know what your is.
I would be the first to lend finincal support to this officer, to file action against all.
Maybe it time, that a few black orginizations get the head up and keep and eye on the lies being told.
My hat is off to this officer, for not responding to the likes of these people.
I was told as a child that IDOL hands makes for the devil’s workshop. Go get a job Ms Reed oops! You don’t have to work your a wan’t to be Snitch.
Mr.Ifante, mite want to step away, this person is bad news.
Come out and tell the truth, you know it did’t happen, oh and these tapes, go back to school and learn something, if you had something it would be out
Jerd you need to drop this one! The eyes and ears are upon. you!
