Al Gore Wins Nobel Prize
October 12th, 2007 by Maria Evans
Former Vice President and Oscar winner and now Nobel Peace Prize winner, Al Gore.
Former Vice President and Oscar winner, Al Gore has won the Nobel Prize for peace for “for spreading awareness of man-made climate change and laying the foundations for counteracting it.”
The White House was “happy” for Mr. Gore:
“Of course we’re happy for Vice President Gore and the IPCC for receiving this recognition,” White House spokesman Tony Fratto said, referring to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which shared the award with Gore.
The last time an American won the Nobel Prize for peace was former President Jimmy Carter in 2002. Carter has been keeping himself busy lately denying that genocide is occurring in the Darfur region of the Sudan.
Check out what Hube has to say about Al Gore winning the Nobel Prize for peace at the Colossus of Rhodey.

I heard that ‘Bernard Kerik’ and Rudy Giuliani were in the running! Since Kerik is headed to the poky on bribery, tax fraud and obstruction of justice the committee passed on their shared possibility.

Hey M, thanks for the shout out. This prize has turned into nothing but the feel-good political elite patting themselves on the back. A couple other recent winners (not noted in my post) included a dude planting trees in Africa and a guy assisting with loans!
I thought this was the Nobel PEACE Prize?
(I wonder why Gore didn’t win the prize for science, hmmm???)

Hube, do you have it in you to just congratulate Al Gore for his efforts to effectively enlighten us on the threats of global warming, and then to be acknowledged for same with the Nobel Peace Prize, or is your ideological mean-spiritedness that deep and dense?

This is Gore’s second Nobel Price I think, the first was for inventing internet technology.

[...] And just to add a little more excitement for the 3 tribes in Darfur that the Sudanese government is trying to eliminate, (it’s OK, former President Jimmy Carter says isn’t “genocide”), the attacks have created an even bigger refugee crisis with even more panicked Sudanese fleeing to the border with Chad, a country suffering it’s own refugee crisis: But the porous Chad-Sudan border may not be much safer than Darfur for the refugees.
