“A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. ‘The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality. By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination….’”
Totalitarian socialist liberals have taken completely over. Time to withdrawal the children and your tuition payment, and end any Government funding the school receives. I’m serious.
A World Net Daily article about this outrage also had this to say
The education program also notes that “reverse racism” is “a term created and used by white people to deny their white privilege.” And “a non-racist” is called “a non-term,” because, the program explains, “The term was created by whites to deny responsibility for systemic racism, to maintain an aura of innocence in the face of racial oppression, and to shift the responsibility for that oppression from whites to people of color (called ‘blaming the victim’).”
The “education” regarding racism is just one of the subjects that students are required to adopt as part of their University of Delaware experience…
U of D requires all of the residence hall students (about 7000) to adopt the official views of the school in regards to racism, homosexuality, politics etc. or face problems with the RA’s.

Of course it is shocking…yet another source of those “in command” demanding all in attendance to think as they do and, sadly, this an institute of higher learning. Shocking…but shouldn’t be so surprising. Freedom of thinking, philosophy, beliefs are hardly encouraged anywhere today. It’s very apparent that no reasonable dicussion or debate is to be encouraged be it in halls of learning, government (national, state or local) or in the media. Anyone who differs from a board, dean, president/governor/mayor, editor, talk show host or neighbour mustn’t be tolerated. And as insidious as their methods are, it all amounts to the same process…think and believe as we tell you to or else.
God, family, freedom…we need to remove freedom from that list because if one doesn’t believe in another’s ideology of the first two or agree with those who would shove them down one’s throat…then how much freedom is there?

My daughter was thinking about a program at the UofDe, however, they will never be able to spend one penny of our money with their ignorant behavior and mind set.

I think what the school is trying to promote is that the black race has not evolved to the point of being capable of being racist. Remember all the outrage years ago with the billboards in ghettos pimping hard-core liquor? The same liberal do-gooders insisted that they be removed because the blacks again had failed to evolve to the point of making decisions for themselves, they need the help of Guvment involvement to make decisions for them They have succeeded- look how the masses of peoples did nothing in Na’lings while the city flooded. They waited for someone to take care of them. If you don’t think blacks are racist- ask that opinion of a Korean living in No. Virginia.

You are right that this entry in their residence manual is wrong and stupid. Clearly, this was written by some misguided person (or persons) who wanted to address institutional racism. So write to the resident program and tell that this entry is dumb.
But in typical Bill O-Reilly fashion, you find some lines in some obsccure publication and declare that the liberal socialists are taking over. Taking over what? Some manual that no one ever reads? I think the Republic will stand.
First, let me point out that liberals are not socialists. Most of us are proud members of our democracy, we pay taxes and serve in the military. So no, liberals are not socialists.
You then go on and implore your readers to withdrawl (sic) the children. Should they instead transfer to Bob Jones University where interacial dating is outlawed?
Then you tell us that all public funding of the university should be pulled. Do you have any idea how many hundreds of thousands of people have been educated at UD and transformed their lives? Does it matter that many of those people came from poverty, and used state funding to be the first in their family to attend college. I know some of those people, and I’ll bet you know some of them too.
But, by all means, lets throw that all away because of a few stupid lines in a resident manual. Great idea.

Lefty has it right.
Very likely we will discover that some angry person was responsible for the writing of this reference hall manual, and that there was negligence regarding oversight by the University. I cannot imagine the U of D decision makers signing on to this outrage.
Let us withhold the paranoia that is all too characteristic of Dan, and permit President Harkins to straighten all this out. To condemn the U of D at this point just as outrageous.
I cannot fathom the mentality of a person who would choose to make the following statement, except in order to inflame: “Totalitarian socialist liberals have taken completely over.”
This is like the arsonist(s) who allegedly started the wildfires in San Diego. Clear thinking people do not speak in this manner.

Perry: You and lefty act as if the UD incident is an aberration. You couldn’t be more wrong. This garbage goes on across the country ALL THE TIME. And if it weren’t for outfits like FIRE, they’d be getting away with it. Your contention that it is some “oversight” is laughable. The UD powers that be know what they’re doing. And they got caught. Now, they’ll hem and haw, using lame excuses and some sort of plausible deniability to cover the president’s butt. I can only imagine Perry exonerating Pres. Bush in this manner

Re Bush, everybody knows about his lies, deceptions, his signing statements, and his ignoring of the Constitution believing himself to be above the law, so there is no new need to substantiate any of it. Why do you think his approval rating has remained south of 30% for so long? If you (or Dan) are concerned about totalitarianism, Bush should be your focus, for sure!!!
