But my family is made to feel that we have to hide not only our secular celebration of December 25th but also our celebration of Hanukkah. I’ve lived in Delaware since the late 70s and I think it’s gotten worse in that regard.

I understand that Christians, especially in Sussex County Delaware, are proud of their religion however the need to force it down people’s throats in total disregard to anyone else’s feelings is truly becoming something disgusting. Even the local advertisments that such and such is a “christian business” etc. So what? Is that supposed to mean they’re a better business than someone else who choses not to advertise their religious viewpoints?

Religion is something that if one truly believes whatever he is professing to believe one doesn’t need to shove down anyone else’s throat. A my way or the highway attitude is offensive to all.

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, our best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

Some conservative decided it was politically incorrect to say Merry Christmas given the diversity of our country, however, we dont stop saying Happy Kwaanza, or Feliz Navidad, or Buon Natale, which loosely translated all mean Merry Christmas. When does that become politically incorrect? Or is it just because “christ” is in the word christmas? Again, the reason for the season. Hmmmm……
