Of course we must remember our war’s wounded, but we should also examine the policy behind the wound, while insisting that our wounded be looked after. 25% of our homeless are veterans! Thus, we need to do much, much more.
Otherwise a good editorial, however I do have a problem with the assumption that “armed vigilence” includes a preemptive attack on a sovereign nation. To me, armed vigilence is an appropriate defensive position, to be ready to step up if attacked. This has not been the case with the foreign policies we’ve permitted ourselves to be involved in off and on for the last 60 years.
