Goodman Co Worker Speaks Out
May 9th, 2008 by Dan Gaffney“It was the worst year of my life” said the Dorchester County Maryland school teacher, when describing the time she worked for Dana Goodman, the Sussex Central principal charged with 30 counts of rape.
Teacher Jane Doe, (my name for her) also explained how Mr. Goodman would allow the middle school girls to refer to him as “husband” and would call themselves “Mrs. Goodman” while they adjusted his tie at lunch.
Despite pages of complaints against Goodman, he apparently was given a glowing recommendation when seeking his job here in Delaware, because Dorchester wanted to get rid of him!

This wannabe ‘Pimp Daddy’ seems like a real piece of work! Those from Dorchester that recommended this ‘garbage’ should be charged with aiding and abetting a low life. The State of Delaware should SUE Dorchester for every penny that was paid out to this wannabe! Suing Dorchester might send a real message to ’school districts’ that seem to pass off all their known problem employees.

Why sue Dorchester County?? There are a lot of good people out there that did talk about Goodman over and over again. They told everyone who would listen. If you think suing is the answer, find out who wrote the glowing recommendation and go after them.

Goodman shows once again what a piece of trash he really is. I just came from the market where I was informed by my daughters old boyfriend who wrestles for Sussex that the team has been trying to get a championship ring that was given to him before he was arrested and it does not look Goodman will not it back. What a shame these guys all as a team do not want Goodman to have the ring and as the young man said the ceremony which was not even covered by the press was ruined by someone they all trusted. Pictures were taken and a video was being made but now that is all no good. For the sake of these kids I hope at least this will happen and some way the ring will be returned and to all of the wrestlers I know it may not seem like it but you guys did a great job and some of us are very proud. Do not let this piece of trash win by overshadowing your great feat.
GO KNIGHTS

PARENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS -
Go to the meeting on the 19th and demand change. Elect NEW BOARD MEMBERS and VOTE NO for the referendum. The last thing this district needs is more of the taxpayer’s money.
IRSD SCHOOL BOARD AND DR. BUNTING -
How about using what you have to better protect students from being sexually exploited by your employees.
Stop protecting the sex addicts and pedophiles and start protecting the students.
It is your duty!!!

boo im confused why would you advocate that we punish the children again. You say vote against the referendum but that will not do anything to the board or administration that will only mean less teachers, support staff, books ,and other things needed by students and staff. The students and staff have suffered enough. Your anger should be directed at the board and Dr.Bunting who gave this man a contract for another year when they were very aware of many complaints made by staff, students, parents, and outside agencies also you should be angry at the assistant principals who worked closely with this man everyday and never spoke up about matters that were not right. I have been told by a staff member that many of the staff want them to also be moved to other schools. It is my opinion that if they new of any problems and did not to speak up they are as much at fault. From what staff not only from Sussex Central but from his past schools have said he seems to have had a real problem with women when he is locked back up I guess that will not be a problem. Back to what I was saying do not let him win again place the blame where it belongs the board, Dr. Bunting, and the assistant principals and not the victims the staff and students.

SCHS mad — good thinking. Perception becomes reality. They tell you and show you what they want you to hear and see; this is what shapes your perception of IRSD. It’s not real. No anger … just facts. Keep thinking, keep questioning. It will make all the difference for the community and getting what is best for our kids.
FIRST THINGS FIRST. The district has shown through this series of events with Mr. Goodman (and past events) that they are not capable of protecting the children in IRSD. The referendum puts money in the very people’s hands who are again asking for more of our money … they can’t handle what they have right now. Postpoing the referendum doesn’t hurt or punish the kids; it actually protects them right now from the very people who are supposed to be keeping them safe each day.
YOU CAN’T TRUST THE CURRENT BOARD AND SUPERINTENDENT.
FIRST - Postpone the referendum. It is not logical to approve salary hikes and “operating expenses” (a fancy public school term that translates to — “We’ve mismanaged your money again.”). That’s the joke … the referendum money is not going to help kids; but rather it helps line the pockets of those who are asking for the money. Wake up.
SECOND - Clean house. Eliminate the Board (and the Superintendent) and start over. Many of the Board members have been there for too long and only spend time in the buildings they like or give support to the people they like. Replace the Superintendent. Her meek and shy approach doesn’t cut it; nobody’s buying it. Get a spine or get out.
THIRD - Establish sound procedures for the Board and the Superintendent to follow to protect our kids. If they fail, then there’s a consequence; just like there’s a consequence for Mr. Goodman.
FOURTH - Reschedule the referendum after new elections with clear cut guidelines, sound procedure for protecting our kids, and a brand new Board with fresh ideas and open minds to change; no more favors for brothers, cousins, and uncles. Get it together or get out.
Peace.

Yo SCHSMAD - The press was there. The Sussex Countian covered the ceremony, and at the request of the Central coaching staff, did not run the photos because Goodman was in them. They are having another ceremony soon.

Rudebwoy thank you I was not aware of another ceremony I just hope we start seeing somemore of the great things frm Sussex Central. Boo I agee the board and Bunting need to go but again dont punish the kids in the short run that school cant afford to lose staff and need more books. I truly also belive the assistant principals need to go also they stood buy and let Goodman run his school his way as he was quick to tell anyone who would listen. Again if they tell us that they were not aware of improprities then they need to go because they are either very dumb or guilty of not protecting our children. Go Knights

HaHa, that’s a good one, schsmad! You want to see more great things from SC so you think getting rid of the assistant principles would solve the problems at the school. What I think the problems are is the culture of rumors and suspicion at IRSD—disgruntaled staff and parents who’s little angels can do no wrong who get popped time and time again for rule infractions, fights, etc. etc….You in point saying that “…anger should be directed at the board and Dr.Bunting who gave this man a contract for another year when they were very aware of many complaints made by staff, students, parents, and outside agencies also you should be angry at the assistant principals who worked closely with this man everyday and never spoke up about matters that were not right. ” Many people claim in these posts to know of or heard of people who knew of Goodmans wrongdoings but were afraid to come forward…He’s GONE-he can’t do anything about it now-who are these people? Why don’t they come forward now that he has no iron fist over them? And that bit about the vice principls “who worked closely with this man everyday and never spoke up about matters that were not right.” Uhhh-how do you know they DIDN”T speak up to higher ups? Just as the teachers were intimidated by him, wouldn’t you think that the assistant principls were also-especially since they are not union employees and are on a year to year contract with IRSD, and not protected by the fat cat teachers union who would protect the teachers had anything happened? And also “I have been told by a staff member that many of the staff want them to also be moved to other schools. ” Who are the staff members and why don’t they move to other schools if they don’t like the administration instead of being typical union hypocrits and doing like they accuse the MD schools of doing and just moving trouble employees to a different school? If this is the case it sounds as if they would have a problem with ANY BOSS who they would have to answer to. To legitimatize my agrument, you said that “I was informed by my daughters old boyfriend who wrestles for Sussex that the team has been trying to get a championship ring that was given to him before he was arrested and it does not look Goodman will not it back. What a shame these guys all as a team do not want Goodman to have the ring and as the young man said the ceremony which was not even covered by the press..” Well, you emotionally reacted to a rumor and plastered it on the internet without first finding out the facts. To your credit, however, you at least aknowleged your error when corrected. Will you ever believe the IR school board when they say they knew nothing? I think not. Goodman the rapist creep is out of there and hopfully going to the big house-but will you be happy? Probably not until every administrator is out of there. But where to stop? How about the school couselers, who should know what is going on with the students? How about the resource officer? The state trooper who oversees that laws are upheld? The PTO, who as an organized group of parents would say that things are wrong before they go south? Jimmeney Crickets! Goodman had a fling with a 17 year old! Don’t you think that the entire school SHOULD HAVE KNOWN given the gossip powers of a teenage girl? Sometimes things just don’t pan out as they should. Prehaps you should put your energy into bringing th SCHS community back together after this fiasco instead of drumming up hate geared towards others-unless YOU knew something and didn’t say anything and are just trying to draw attention away from yourself…hows THAT for a little McCarthy politics thrown right back at you?

This pervert deserves to be someone’s “girlfriend” in State prison. He needs to be on the other end (pun intended) of the power and authority side. How smug he always was and in the end he was his own worse enemy thinking he was untouchable. I know for a fact that the IRSD lost several good people because of his heavy handedness and his thinking that he is God’s gift to women. Resignations and transfers should have sent a red flag to the School Board if the complaints didn’t already do so. IRSD is no different than a lot of schools. They operate from within and try to keep crap from getting out to the general public. It isn’t until the police become involved that they “fess up” and make it look like they are surprised and concerned. This turd should have been flushed a long time ago. Shame on the School Board for turning a deaf ear to those who tried to warn them. As far as the wrestling teams’ ring - cut the damned thing off the perv’s finger if that is what it takes. I wonder if he wore it to impress his 17 year old girlfriend when he was shacking up with her?
Don’t give up on your school. Clean it up! To do that you need to take a very close look at the School Board and listen to the students/faculty regarding the administration.
