<description>Jesus did hang out with sinners, but then who else was there to hang out with? Jesus was in the world, but not of the world. He was surrounded by sinners, but did not regard sin as desirable.

In Galations 5, it says that if we practice sin we will not inherit the kingdom of God. That is, if we desire and prefer sin over righteuosness than we are no of God. So if we prefer to get drunk with wine, which God says not to do (Ephesians 5) then we are living as WE will not as God wills.

What a man says determines if he is truthful. What he does reveals his righteousness. If what he says is consistent with what he does, then he is a man of integrity. For me, these are the qualities I look for in a political candidate. I don't evaluate them on a "proclamation of faith"</description>

<description>Every person is responsible for their own choices in this life.

As a self-proclaimed Christian Bill Lee must understand that the choices he makes in this life will be called up in the next. The Bible is extremely clear in one important thing in this regard:

Matthew 7:1-5

1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Jesus did not visit the Synagogues nearly as often as he visited the homes of sinners. To the Pharisees, the "holy" people of His time, this was near blasphemy and 'clearly' against the will of God. But as Christians, we believe Jesus IS God, hence, hanging out with sinners is clearly NOT against God's will. Jesus hung out with a lying 'harlot' at a well and forgave her of her sins. He prevented a mob of 'holy' citizens from stoning a woman found guilty of adultery saying “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

I know that I am not sinless, in fact I often think I am chief among sinners. But one thing I have learned as I grow in my understanding of my faith and the Bible, I do my best to avoid picking up a rock to throw. Sometimes I get caught up and toss one anyway, well, SHAME on me for doing so.

When I compare Bill Lee's statement of faith on WGMD to Mike Protack's, then scoured Mike's website for a statement of faith, all I really find is that he is certainly guilty of tossing a stone regarding Bill Lee's decisions. There is not a mention of God in Mike Protack's website.

Is this Light? Or is it merely another way to disparage Bill Lee?
