Healthy Minds Respond to Apocalypse

Socialism is at the Gates!
The Romans used to have a saying that was used as both a call to arms, and
to scare their children. “Hannibal is at the gates!” is what they would cry
to motivate each other to defend their freedoms and their way of life. Given
the current state of America, I think it’s appropriate to slightly modify
that saying. “Socialism is at the gates!”
To be sure, a bailout of the fat-cat tycoons on Wall Street is completely
socialist, and our economic freedom is what’s at stake. Like the Romans who
were defending themselves against the abject slavery that would have
followed a successful sacking of Rome, the American citizenry is now facing
economic slavery to a formidable enemy.
Our way of life is being sold up the river for $700 Billion, which by the
way is nothing more than a guess by the government bureaucrats in
Washington. They think that money will be sufficient to fix this mess, but
they don’t have any idea how deep the proverbial rabbit-hole really goes.
Have you ever heard of a government project coming in under budget? I sure
haven’t.
Unfortunately, it gets worse. The way the bailout is written, the Treasury
Secretary is allowed sole discretion on how the funds are spent. No court of
law, no judge, no jury, no Congressional or Senatorial oversight, not even
the President of the United States of America has the right to alter,
modify, or veto the Secretary’s decisions on how that $700 Billion is spent.
That means that not only would the American citizens be slaves working for
the benefit of Wall Street, but even the President of the United States
could be subservient to the whims and fancy of a tyrannical despot.
Haven’t we fought wars to oppose this? Haven’t our brave men and women given
their very lives so that we could live in freedom? Why would the American
people willingly choose the shackles of bondage over the sweet air of
freedom? Are we really that scared that we will give up every ounce of
liberty for a small assurance from some government bureaucrat that
“everything will be ok.”?
Stand up and be heard, for this is a call to arms. Socialism is at the
gates!

I’m sick in tired of the way this is being handled. As soon as the investors left Wall Street the press was there to get their take. Then the investors say, “oh it’s going to be bad times if that bill isn’t passed.” Wall Street and the legislators are threatening the taxpayers. Let them suffer. Not only will our economy go into a recession, but it will hurt the whole world. All economies across the world will bare our pain. This is being blown up out of proportion and we are being bullied into excepting this plan. A plan that only benefits Wall Street, politicians, and the rich and hurts the blue collar. A plan that is a short fix passed onto our kids. A terrible plan. Let it die and let us deal with it a Capitalist way. It will show the world that we can take on anything and that Capitalism prevails.

Christian, when corporations become big enough to control the government and do so that is called fascism, not socialism. Fabio, unfettered capitalism is the crux of the problem. In your last two sentences if you substitute the word democratic for capitalist and democracy for capitalism it makes sense. In the 1886 Santa Clara decision corporations used the 14th amendment to claim the rights of humans. I believe there are several that deserve the death penalty.

I agree with you Chris, but you know us Milton Boys can’t comprehend all those big words!!! haha….
Honestly though, this is going to be painful to Americans everywhere, so the proverbial call to arms is exactly what it’s going to take to defend this socialist onslaught!

This could be a “forever argument” here, but it is not that hard to get your brain to come to the [natural understanding] (ole fashioned horse sense), that the Good Lord gave to us all at birth. Now any one can be indoctrinated or to get a little stronger,(brain washed) into believing anything, and that you can sell me all I want of it!
The basic factors to understand any form of government is: What is a Republic? What is a Democracy? What is Socialism? What is Communism? What is Tyranny?
We know real fast the last three, none of us want. We know we were given something back in 1776? But what was it?
Answer is: it was supposed to be “freedom”? But did they deliver? The course was set for smooth sailing, but was quickly heisted by supplanting and subterfuge, and years of cunniving and tons of lies that have clouded our judgments and screwed up our moral compass to the point where it is not even a challenge to find out where North is; it is so bad we cannot even tell which way UP or DOWN is and that is aweful! But were here and we are muttling around in a circle like the “Bismarck”. Could GREED have any play here in this equasion? I think so!
In this Country it used to be fashionable for a merchant to make 8–12% mark-up on his product called: Retail Sales, and all could afford to operate in the economy. This has now for decades been runover like the track at Dover Downs at race day! We have every merchant in the book, Doctors, Lawyers, Lowes, Home Depot, Exxon-Mobil FoodLion, YOU NAME IT! They all are operating selling their goods at 2 some three times what they are paying for them and they got this economy Hyper Inflated and the Train has got to come in at some station and be topped off at what price? You Got It! We are the ones who gets the next electric sir-charge passed right on to us like we incurred the debt! Our option of competitive bidding has been effectivily abrogated by the provider because he takes our right to find a better or cheaper source for what he needs and makes us pay for the Hi-Dollar goods like we have an invested interest in his program!
SO, When you talk about a “Bailout” or an economic “Apocalypse” is there any tie to good ole fashioned “GREED” or “Ripoff” artists who gets governmental protections to operate in deceptive business practices to further continue their plunder of the American Citizens pocket book who has borne the main surge of economic collapse that is going to sink the mighty US economy in short order once there is the first curtain call made on the “working poor” of this nation, and they trigger in a real APOCALYPSE!

I usually try not to directly tread on another mans comments, BUT; it appears as though We The People do not know the difference in what form of government we are having to deal with?
There is only a few types it can be, after that, there is no more!
Here they are as I see it—
1.) A Republic
2.) A Democracy
3.) A Fascist
4.) A Socialist
5.) A Communist
I know there are other mutant ones out there like “Gorrilla” “Greens” etc. but to sweep the floor with one broom, this is about it.
SO, get out your dictionary and look them up and find out how each one fits where we are today! I promise you, you will not like it!
Nuff said for now— “J.D.”
