Our Lady of the Pumpkin Patch
October 14th, 2008 by Bill Colley
Some of you listening Tuesday heard me describe the pumpkin patch photograph. My 14-year-old daughter took this shot and hours later saw the unusual image. I’ve had a fellow at Quinnipiac University tell me there isn’t a flaw in the lens. It was just before noon with the sun above us and it was a very, very dry day.
Our Lady of the Pumpkin Patch? The Great Pumpkin? The ghost of a country bumpkin? Offer theories (science) or your thoughts on faith. Would welcome the comments!

This update, the folks at the pumpkin patch told me today a similar apparition was photographed two years ago beside a barn on the property!

It looks like a lens flare which can happen with the best of lenses that have no faults, but it is an unusual shape for such a flare.
I have a picture, taken on route one, near a cell phone tower, in which it appears that huge shafts are descending from the clouds and down to the earth. I took the picture of the tower while idling in traffic but did not see the columns until I downloaded the photo on to my computer. I have also seen Polaroids with a rainbow cross right down the wall and across the ceiling. It’s anybody’s guess what causes these things but I believe the ghost in your picture is that of the Great Pumpkin which Charlie Brown preaches about, and it is watching over its babies.
