Devious Liberal Media
July 2nd, 2009 by Bill ColleyA fellow at a local newspaper wrote a story headlined “Irate conservatives get together…” It’s a piece about the tea parties. I wrote Dan Shortridge an email:
Dear Dan, I understand you aren’t exactly New York Times caliber talent but I see you’re trying to ape that paper’s spin. How do you know all of the folks at the tea party are conservatives? I personally know two Democrats who attended. How about libertarians or don’t you know the difference?
Liberal media bias isn’t a myth. You’re exhibit A locally.

This was a follow up today for Mr. Shortridge:
What’s interesting, Bud, is that Friday morning I can find nothing at Delaware Online or DelmarvaNow about the Thursday tea parties. I recall the News Journal was the same paper giving front page coverage to Greenpeace. This when 24 Greenpeacers gathered last summer in Wilmington and spelled out a message for Mike Castle.
There were more than 200 people at a town meeting in Georgetown Tuesday and they gave Mr. Castle an earful. Castle even attended the Wilmington tea party. I think hundreds represent more than two dozen with flashcards, don’t you?
As your paper continues circling the drain you folks could consider it isn’t internet competition but the obvious bias and efforts to tell readers what they should think versus what they should know.
