Carney, Bunting Give $7 Million To Early Education

Delaware Governor John Carney and Secretary of Education Susan Bunting reaffirmed their commitment to early education in the state by giving a $7.65 million grant to Delaware schools. The grant will go to better early education over the next five years. It comes on the heels of a $7.25 million grant the state got in 2015 for early learning opportunities in low-income houses. The new Early Head Start Child Care grant will expand quality learning to students specifically in Kent and Sussex Counties. The grant support children from birth to 3-years-old and their families that are part of the Delaware Stars programs.
