Carolers gather in Georgetown to spread good cheer throughout Sussex

Over 500 revelers gathered on the Circle in Georgetown last night to ring in the Christmas season.  The Caroling on the Circle food drive event is the traditional kick-off of the holiday season in Sussex, not just with good cheer, but also great charity: nearly 24,000 canned goods were collected for local food banks. County Administrator Todd Lawson says each year the event shows the generosity of people in Sussex County, and that giving spirit makes a difference for friends and neighbors in need. Officials say people can continue donating canned goods or non-perishable food items at County offices until December 29.
