Celebration of Life Saturday for Sister Rosa Alvarez of La Esperanza in Georgetown

US Senator Tom Carper will be in Georgetown Saturday to speak at a Celebration of Life for Sister Rosa Alvarez. She is one of the three Carmelite nuns who founded the La Esperanza Center in Georgetown in the 1990s to help immigrants with basic needs like housing, health care and family support. The Celebration of Life begins at 11:30am in the Theatre at Delaware Tech in Georgetown.
