Class Action Lawsuit Filed Today Against Mountaire Farms

A class action lawsuit has been filed today against Mountaire Farms today alleging negligence, and recklessness among other things as the poultry processor in Millsboro continues to come under fire from neighbors who claim wastewater from its plant has polluted their wells. Lawyers for around 700 plaintiffs say the company has violated wastewater permits for most of the 17 years its operated the plant.  As for the lawsuit, the company isn’t commenting yet.  But Mountaire has said recent problems have been overblown by its critics but it’s already been offering neighbors free deep well installation and has agreed to major upgrades of its water treatment facility.
