World Language Immersion Program Expands for 2013-2014 School Year

Jan 30, 2013 -- 11:27am

Next fall, nearly 1,000 kindergarteners and first graders will be enrolled in Governor Jack Markell’s World Language Expansion Initiative. That’s because seven more schools across the state will begin offering students the opportunity to participate in an elementary immersion program studying either Mandarin Chinese or Spanish.

The initial program made its debut at the start of the 2012-2013 school year. An annual investment of $1.9 million will support the program.
