DNREC Enforcement Officers went to the rescue of a deer that fell through the ice on Haven Lake near Milford.  Officers in a boat were able to break the ice to get close to the doe – and then herd it through the open water channel back to shore.  They say the doe collapsed as she neared shore, but they officers were able to help her on to shore.  The deer recovered enough to return to the wild.
