The Sussex County Council today approved directing $500,000 of $854,029 in surplus revenue from FY12 to local libraries and a housing repair program.

Eleven independent libraries will share, in varying percentages, $350,000 in funding; the County's Community Development & Housing emergency repair program will receive $150,000 for critical home repairs.

The balance of the surplus will go to the County's general fund.
