Breast cancer survivors and representatives of the Maryland chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation will join Mayor Rick Meehan to kick off the 2nd annual “Race for the Cure” in Ocean City today.
A press conference will be held at 11 o’clock this morning at Seacrets on 49th Street and the bay. The Komen Foundation will reveal attendance and fundraising numbers from last year’s inaugural “Race for the Cure” event in Ocean City. The foundation says it chose Ocean City as its second Race location in Maryland because statistics show that the Eastern Shore has some of the highest rates of breast cancer in the state.
This year's "Race for the Cure" will be held on April 21.
