Pennsylvania State Police say an 18-year-old Delaware woman was killed Sunday morning when her car ran off the road and hit a tree.

The accident happened just after 6 a.m. in Kennett Township, Pennsylvania on Old Kennett Road.

Police say Kristen Felkowski of Wilmington failed to negotiate a curve in her BMW and ran off the road, striking the tree; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 16-year-old passenger from Scranton, PA was taken to A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children with non-life threatening injuries.
