A crash near Sussex Tech High School in Georgetown just after 6am left thousands without power for several hours Sunday morning. State Police say 24 year old Jamaal Taylor of Bridgeville was driving a Ford Explorer on Route 9 when he went of the road and hit a utility pole. Taylor was not wearing a seat belt and was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was cited for inattentive driving after police determined he possibly fell asleep behind the wheel.
