Fireworks Planned in OC for New Year's Eve

Dec 11, 2012 -- 10:52am

When 2013 year starts, the sky over Ocean City will be lit with fireworks, as a new tradition in the resort begins.

For the first time this year, Ocean City is celebrating the new year with a fireworks display. At midnight on Monday, Dec. 31, the sky at Northside Park on 125th Street will be lit with colors and designs welcoming a brand new year, 2013.

The annual Winterfest of Lights, also at Northside Park, will remain open late that night, as well. DJ Kutt will provide music and there will be  hot chocolate. Fireworks are free, but there's a charge to ride the train at Winterfest.

Winterfest, by the way, was named Maryland’s Finest Holiday Tradition by Maryland Life Magazine.
