Ireton & Shields Re-elected, Day takes District 2 in Salisbury

Salisbury voters are returning Jim Ireton to the mayor’s office.  Ireton received over 68% of the vote to blogger Joe Albero’s 31%.  However there will be one new face on the city council.  Voters in District 2 voted for Jake Day who garnered 1569 votes to incumbent Deborah Campbell’s 612 votes.  In District 1 incumbent Shanie Shields was the top vote-getter with 145 votes.  Businesswoman Cynthia Polk received 80 votes and community activist April Jackson got 77.  According to the city Board of Election – voter turnout was at nearly 18%.  The results are still unofficial.
