DNREC Enforcement Agents responded to 62 complaints last week and issued 42 citations. 16 of the citations issued were associated with the increased presence at the C&D Canal Conservation Area and the recreational trail that is under construction. On May 14 20 year old John Koronick of Elkton, Maryland was arrested and charged with disregarding a police command to stop, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and other offenses including underage consumption of alcohol. 18 year old Gilbert Torres of Elkton was also charged with similar offenses. Both are free on bond.
DNREC Enforcement Agents have been busy as the warmer weather arrives. On Saturday, May 18 34 year old Brooke Waters of Milton for allegedly selling blue crabs from a pickup truck in Lewes. Under Delaware law, it’s illegal for recreational crabbers to sell blue crabs.
Enforcement Agents from DNREC last Sunday arrested 29 year old arrested Ever Orosco-Bisael of Georgetown for unlicensed fishing, littering and resisting arrest after an incident near Blades. He was released on $700 secured bond.
