Jun 14, 2013 -- 4:49pm

Saturday is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, and the Delaware Attorney General’s Office has announced the indictment of six people in a home improvement scam.

On May 28, the AG’s Office secured a 12-count indictment following a year-long investigation by Wilmington Police, New Castle County Police and the AG’s Senior Protection Initiative. 46-year-old Alexander Patterson, 27-year-old Alexander Williamson, 52-year-old Robert Gregg, 47-year-old Frances Williamson, 27-year-old Billie Jean Robson and 27-year-old Catherine Robson were all charged with counts of home improvement fraud, theft from a senior, and conspiracy. The investigation found that four seniors over the age of 62 had been targeted by the defendants, who allegedly went door-to-door and offered home improvement services that weren’t necessarily needed. They then did little to know work, according to the indictment.
