Roads Reopening Following Flooding From Friday's Heavy Rain

Jul 13, 2013 -- 5:45am

Many of the roads that were either closed or had high water on them due to yesterday’s heavy rains are reopening as the floodwaters are receding.

A number of roads were either closed or became difficult to navigate as more than six inches of rain fell in some parts of eastern Sussex County. However, there are still some road closures to report this morning.

Route 54 is closed at Sand Cove Road between Selbyville and Fenwick Island because of high water on the road. Zoar Road is closed near the intersection of Lawson Road between Georgetown and Millsboro due to the failure of an underground pipe. Robin Hood Road near Delmar is closed due to high water. Indian Mission Road between Beaver Dam Road and Route 24 in Long Neck is also closed due to high water.
