A new memorial sculpture to honor fallen veterans will be unveiled on Monday at Dover Air Force Base.
“The Angel and the Dying Unknown” will be unveiled and dedicated during a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at the Center for the Families of the Fallen. The $40,000 sculpture was donated by the Newington-Cropsey Foundation, an art organization that works to preserve and display art. The sculpture shows a guardian angel holding onto and protecting a wounded shoulder. It’ll be located near the meditation garden on the base, and will serve as a reflection on the sacrifices made by our nation’s war dead.
