As part of Governor’s Day at the Delaware State Fair tomorrow, DNREC will be presenting its annual awards.
Governor Jack Markell will join EPA Regional Administrator Shawn Garvin, DNREC Secretary Collin O’Mara and division directors for the annual awards ceremony outside the DNREC Building on the fairgrounds. The Young Environmentalist of the Year will be recognized. Awards will also be presented to recognize outstanding volunteers for DNREC, as well as to the winners from the Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Youth Fishing Tournament and the Hunting and Fishing Photo Contest. As part of the ceremony, Governor Markell will sign House Bill 94 into law, which will improve and clarify DNREC’s process and criteria for issuing permits for handling and possessing protecting wildlife for scientific, educational or breeding purposes.
The ceremony will be held at 1 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the Mann Tharp Pavilion.
