UPDATED 3:55 PM: Two people were injured when a car crashed into a moped on Route 1 in Rehoboth this afternoon.
Delaware State Police say around 11:30 this morning, 20-year-old Hunter Bordley of Townsend was riding a Yamaha moped in the bus lane on southbound Route 1 with 20-year-old Bethany Timmons of Middletown on board as a passenger. 79-year-old Shirley Supplee of Rehoboth Beach was driving north on Route 1, and was attempting to turn left onto Phillips Street. A vehicle and a bus stopped short of the crossover to let Supplee turn left. As she tried to cross the highway in front of the vehicles, Troopers say her Honda Accord crossed into the bus lane, and the moped crashed into the passenger’s side door. Bordley and Timmons were ejected from the moped into the road. They were taken by ambulance to Beebe Hospital to be treated for their injuries.
State Police say charges aren’t pending.
