The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a house fire in Claymont that’s left a man in critical condition.
The fire broke out just after 12:30 yesterday afternoon in a home on Providence Avenue in the Brandywine Estates development. Smoke was already pouring out of the two-story building by the time Claymont firefighters arrived. A man was rescued by firefighters, and was taken to Crozer Hospital in Upland, Pennsylvania, where he’s in critical condition for smoke inhalation.
Damages to the home are estimated at over $100,000.
