Sep 18, 2013 -- 8:40am

DNREC’s Division of Fish and Wildlife has announced the participating butcher shops in this year’s “Sportsmen Against Hunger” program.

The participating butcher shops this season in Sussex County will be Johnson’s Custom Cutting on Burton Road in Milton, Dave’s Cut ‘Em Up in Delmar, and Mark’s Meats & More on Hollyville Road in Millsboro. In Kent County, Miller’s Butcher Shop on Morgans Choice Road in Wyoming, and D&J Custom Cutting on Myers Drive in Hartly will be cutting up venison for food pantries and shelters throughout Delaware.

Hunters are reminded that a deer that’s dropped off at a cooler must be field dressed and registered.
