Suicide prevention advocates and people who’ve been affected by suicide will be walking to raise awareness in Ocean City this weekend.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Atlantic General Hospital and the Jesse Klump Memorial Fund are among the sponsors for the second annual “Out of the Darkness” Community Walk on Saturday to raise awareness about suicide prevention. The walk will raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, which is the leading nonprofit for research, education and advocacy on suicide awareness and prevention.

State Senator and former Ocean City Mayor Jim Mathias will give the opening speech for the walk, which will begin at 10 a.m. on the Boardwalk at Caroline Street.
