Sep 25, 2013 -- 10:52am

A Laurel man is in jail after being arrested in connection with the theft of a scooter in Ocean City last weekend.

Around 1:30 Saturday afternoon, Ocean City Police were called to Continental Cycles on Coastal Highway for a report of a stolen scooter. An employee said he noticed that a scooter had gone missing about half an hour before police were called. The scooter was later found on 75th Street with a blanket over it and the registration plate and key missing.

Treyon Miles was arrested on an outstanding warrant. While searching Miles, officers say they found prescription Xanax pills, and then found the registration plate and scooter key. Miles has been charged with theft between $1,000 and $10,000, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, and possession of Xanax without a prescription. He’s now being held at the Worcester County Jail.
