Teenager Arrested For Series of Armed Robberies in Newark

Delaware State Police have arrested a teenager in connection with a string of armed robberies in Newark.

Troopers arrested 17-year-old Jared Gomez of Newark on Monday. He was wanted in connection with armed robberies at five convenience stores on Red Mill Road, Kirkwood Highway and Capitol Trail in Newark between October 25 and November 3. State Police say he also tried to commit two more robberies.

Gomez is charged with four counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of attempted first-degree robbery, and five counts each of possession of a firearm and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony. He’s being held at the New Castle County Detention Center on $465,000 cash bail.
