Public Workshop on Redevelopment of Vlasic Site Set for Nov 21

Nov 12, 2013 -- 4:11pm

A public workshop is set for Thursday, November 21 about the redevelopment of the Vlasic site in Dagsboro.  The Community Involvement Advisory Council is sponsoring the workshop which will be held at the Millsboro Town Hall from 3 to 5pm.  Harim Foods has entered into a brownfields development agreement with DNREC looking to purchase the site and convert it from a pickle plant to a poultry plant.  The public workshop will give the public a better understanding of the environmental issues being addressed by DNREC if the site is acquired by Harim and converted into a poultry processing plant.  There will also be a public hearing on the brownfields development agreement and proposed plan of remediation is set for Wednesday, December 4 at the Millsboro Fire Hall starting at 6pm.
