Worcester County Commissioner Louise Gulyas was the President of the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce 21 years ago and she cannot believe how Winterfest of Lights has grown to the major attraction it is today. Ms. Gulyas says the event was a team effort between the Town of Ocean City and the Chamber of Commerce. The town came up with the idea…the Chamber went to their members to help fund it. Members were asked to donate from five to twenty-five thousand dollars, which they could pay off in one year increments over five years. Louis Gulyas said resort businesses stepped up to the plate and made Winterfest of Lights at Northside Park at 125th Street a reality. For complete information, visit oceancitymd.gov
