rita-crosby-promo

Construction is starting Monday at Dover Air Force Base that will see gate closures at the Main and North Gates.  On Monday the North Gate will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic through approximately May 5th while permanent curbing is placed.  During this time – the Main Gate will be available 24/7 for all traffic.  The South Gate will be open for privately owned vehicles on weekdays from 6:30am to 8am.  When work at the North Gate is completed, construction will shift to the Main Gate, which will likely last through the rest of May.

From approximately May 6th to May 31st, the Main Gate will be closed to inbound vehicle traffic but will still allow pedestrian and bicycle traffic to enter. Main Gate outbound lanes will remain open to vehicle traffic 24/7. During Main Gate construction, the North Gate will be open 24/7 as the base’s primary entry and exit point, and the South Gate will be opened for privately owned vehicles to enter the base on weekdays between 6:30 a.m. and 8 a.m.

The Visitor Center will remain open during normal hours and will be accessible throughout all of April and May.

During peak traffic times, Security Forces personnel will direct traffic through the remaining
gates as expeditiously as possible.
