DE Sen. Carper requests data published on veteran student loans

Delaware Senator Tom Carper is requesting an update from the Department of Veterans affairs about programs that could discharge student loan debt for veterans. In November 2016 the VA and Department fo education agreed to publish data on veteran loan debt online to help inform service disabled veterans about their ability to discharge student loans. Senator Carper calls it a myth to assume post-9/11 GI Bill beneficiaries do not accure student loan debt, and believes the data will enable lawmakers to get a better understanding of challenges post-9/11 veterans are facing.
