DE unemployment falls for first time in 15 months

Delaware’s unemployment rate has fallen for the first time in 15 months. In October, the statewide unemployment rate dropped one-tenth of a percent from 4.9 to 4.8 percent the first drop since August 2016. However, its not necessarily good news; the dip is not tied to more hiring in the state, but rather people dropping out of the civilian labor force. According to Department of Labor statistics 800 people left the workforce last month, most of whom were unemployed.
