Delaware has a new tool to identify and stop excess spending in the state government. The website is for the Government Efficiency and Accountability Review Board, and is available for state employees and members of the public to identify opportunities for cost savings and system improvements.
“We have an obligation to spend taxpayer dollars wisely, find ways to more efficiently allocate state resources, and direct investments where they are most needed,” says Governor John Carney.
The GEAR Board started meeting this year, and will submit a report to the governor annually on December 1st recommending new strategies that could be adopted in the budget in order to help control costs. If you want to submit an idea, checkout the website: gear.delaware.gov
