Delaware pot panel reconvenes to discuss recreational marijuana


In Delaware, a state panel got back to work this week, considering issues surrounding the legalization of recreational marijuana in the state; A meeting yesterday focused on public safety and criminal justice issues involving legalization.  Among those making presentations were the Delaware police chiefs council, the state department of safety and homeland security as well as the public defender’s office.  Eight states and the district of Columbia have legalized recreational use of marijuana; Delaware could be the first state to implement legalization through the legislative process.  The panel is expected to have their report and recommendations finished in early 2018.
