Delaware’s ranking US Senator will seek a fourth term in Office. Tom Carper announced his intentions on Monday during an interview on MSNBC. Carper says that he was planning on retirement, because he thought Hillary Clinton would win and Democrats would secure a majority in the Senate. However, none of that happened, and so Carper’s plans changed. While he was ranked the 4th most popular Senator overall September 2016 according to a Morning Consult poll; as of July he slipped down 10 spots.
