Dewey Beach Police Seek Driver Who Struck Woman and Fled

A female pedestrian was struck this morning by a hit-and-run driver on Coastal Highway at Dickinson Avenue in Dewey Beach.  Police are asking the public for any information regarding the accident which happened around 12:30 a.m. during the thunderstorm.

Police say surveillance video shows and witnesses described a dark-colored sedan traveling north on Coastal Highway in the area of Dickinson Avenue.  That is where the car struck a 20-year-old Bel Air, Maryland woman who was in the crosswalk.  The car fled north on Coastal Highway and the driver failed to return to the scene.
