The Delaware Department of Justice says 52-year-old William Smith of Dover has pled guilty and been sentenced for an August 2018 incident that injured two female pedestrians in a crosswalk at the intersection of Route 13 and Denneys Road in Dover.

Smith pled guilty to two counts of vehicular assault in the first degree and one count of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.

State officials say a Superior Court judge has sentenced Smith to five years in prison, followed by six months of either home confinement or work release, and one year of probation.
